With the coronavirus pandemic taking a firm hold on the state of the music festival industry in 2020, music artists are using the quarantined time to create new tunes and hone their craft to be better than ever. Many up-and-comers have hinted towards new projects in the works, and the world is in need of exciting entertainment right now. This article will highlight some of those artists who were set to play for the biggest festivals and are on the cusp of success.

YBN Cordae

The 22-year-old rapper, singer and songwriter from North Carolina has seen a huge growth in popularity in the past year with his debut album ‘The Lost Boy’, mainly due to a highly successful collaboration with Anderson Paak. Cordae was set to perform at Forecast Festival and Hive Music Festival later in the year until both were postponed with the dates yet to be reset.

Rex Orange County

Only 21 year’s old and he has already released three albums, Alexander O’Connor from the United Kingdom has grown in popularity after releasing much of his music on Soundcloud for free. He has now been provided with a management team by the producer ‘Two Inch Punch’. He is attending many festivals in this year’s scene, most notably, Coachella.

Black Pumas

From Austin, Texas, the psychedelic soul band, Black Pumas are on the edge of exploding into the international music scene. The release of their debut self-titled album in 2017 with ATO Record put them on the scope of festival organisers in the industry. After an acclaimed performance at 2019’s famous South by Southwest festival, they are set to make a global splash in 2020 with performances scheduled at Nos Alive Portugal, Coachella Music and Arts Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Fuji Rock Festival and Zelt Musik Festival in Germany.
