Ampere Quartet

The Ampere quartet is the only electric guitar quartet in the Southern Hemisphere. In the short time that they have been operating they have already begun to increase the repertoire by commissioning both local and international composers to write for them. Individually the members have all been active in the new music scene and by coming together they hope to invigorate and inspire composers and are planning some exciting collaborations. So far the quartet has worked with Julian Day & Luke Jaaniste as part of their Super Critical Mass project, workshopped and experimented with composers Alex Pozniak & Steffan Ianigro and been in discussion with composers in Europe and the USA about pieces that haven't seen the light of day for many years and also the possibility of new works.

Chronology Arts

Chronology Arts was established in 2007 to support artistic and professional development of composers. The company achieves this by creating, promoting and presenting events of newly written music by emerging composers in varying instrumentations and aesthetics, encouraging commissions of new music through Commissioner’s Circle.
